A lively, beautifully structured and harmonizing motif.

The poster Digging for Life shows an arrangement by the artist Jumua al-Hamu: a selection of his sculptural works on a table in his garden.
Under the open sky, he presents the re-excavated artifacts that he - like many others - buried in the ground during the terror regime to protect them from destruction. Thanks to his resilience and indestructible creativity, he survived the terror regime and can now live a freer life in Rojava, northern Syria.

Backstory

Jumua al-Hamu buried his artistic works in the ground of his garden. After the victory over the jihadists, the art resurfaced from the underground. Thus, he began to bring his artifacts back to light. Although corruption, mistrust, and the danger of new conflicts make a return to normality difficult, the sculptor and many other creatives can now work freely again.
